Night at The Museum and Arc

First let me say we have the Metro down pat now and it is really helpful in this city.  So tonight we started back at the Louvre (Wednesdays it stays open until 9:30) and there were fewer people but more Art classes.

Then we walked up Avenue Champs Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe.  Quite the lovely evening to say the least.

One of the featured paintings there. I’ve seen this in books so many times. Artist is unknown.

The eternal flame and view down the street from standing underneath the arc.

One last thing about the Louvre and this is HUGE!!

We showed up and there were two lines to get in,  On the right was the line for people without tickets. There were, not kidding, around 600-800 people in that line. On the left was the line for people with tickets. There were like 20 people in that line. Of course we ask the guard where to get tickets to walk up with and he said the Visitors Bureau (you can NOT buy them online in case you are wondering). We found one a few blocks away using smart phone technology. We bought our tickets there with no wait, ate a wonderful brunch at a nearby cafe, and then walked backed  to the Louvre and walked right in with our tickets while hundreds of people were still in the long line. Score!!!
